100% Employment for Microsoft Certified Professionals

On the topic of employment, though there are at least 11,000 vacancies in the local IT Market only 2,500 positions have been filled. While many people face the problem of Sri Lankan qualifications being inadequate for foreign jobs, Microsoft Certified Software Engineering and Network Engineering are internationally recognized qualifications and puts the recipient on par with any other foreign qualified individual. These certifications are usually seen in the upper end of companies in the “East and West” emphasizing the importance of exposing Asians to this qualification as well.
To emphasize the importance of Internationally recognized professional certification, ICTA has launched a “voucher reimbursement program” to encourage IT professionals to enhance their skill levels in par with international standards, which in turn will raise the National IT standards.

Entry level, for Microsoft Certified Software or Network Engineer.
Entry level flexibility allows A/Level students to complete their Microsoft Network Engineering and Software Engineering Certification even with out A/L certificate. All fresh students will get introductory course to computing with International Computer Driving Licence certification and will proceed to learn desktop applications during the first Term. During the second term, student will choose the specialty tracks of either Software Engineering Track or Networking Engineering Track.
The students who are opting to enter Microsoft Software Engineering track will learn C#, VB.Net 2.0 programming on Visual Studio 2005/2008, core web applications in second term and Advanced Web / Windows application in third term as electives.
The students who are opting for Microsoft Network Engineering (MCITP- Server 2008 Enterprise administrator) would cover Introduction to Network, Windows 7 , Windows Server 2008 in second Term and Network Infrastructure, Active Directory Services, , SQL Server 2005/2008, and will specialize in special servers such as Exchange Server 2010, ISA ,Security and SQL Server 2005,SMS Server along with CCNA in Third Term. All the students will be eligible to sit for online exams through Prometric Testing Centre and VUE.
The training will be carried out by Microsoft Certified Trainers, industry specialist and foreign lecturers. The training materials, Books and CDs are designed and delivered by Microsoft USA whereby training in Sri Lanka is equal to what is delivered and taught in USA. In addition, the student will be given practical training during their placements and soft skills training during the last part of the training.
